Jeremy Fern runs a consultancy offering services to investors into the UK especially in infrastructure, renewable energy, real estate and smaller companies. The business also provides briefing on areas including public administration, diplomacy and the role of London as a European and global centre for finance and trade.

For many years he worked for the City of London Corporation. His role was to engage with City businesses, with trade associations and with Whitehall and Westminster on the very broad range of issues which affect the competitiveness of London as a global financial centre, to brief the Lord Mayor and the Chairman of Policy on these and other issues, and to tie the engagement with business into its work on international promotion and its regeneration partnerships with neighbouring boroughs. He frequently accompanied Lord Mayors on business visits to the Gulf and worked with the FCO, DIT, TheCityUK and others to plan events and programmes for visitors to the UK.

Prior to that he worked for a range of stockbroking firms, specialising in international markets and providing advice to institutions and overseas high net worth individuals.

Relaxation includes long walks, an occasional glass of wine, and the company of Bess, a young, affectionate and extremely greedy flat-coated retriever. Jeremy enjoys singing, especially church music, though listeners nearby often try and persuade him it would be kinder just to hum along!

He served as an officer in the Army Reserve for over thirty years. He is a Deputy Lieutenant for Greater London, governor of a high school in Brixton and a trustee of several charities. His interests include education and the history of London and its people.
